At Chapel by the Sea Baptist Church on Tybee Island, GA, we believe that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. We strive to declare man's need for having a spiritual, as well as personal relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ . The gift that God has made available is a relationship and not a religion. Our aim in ministry is to introduce people, through the Word of God and evangelism to the only Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We strongly believe in the power of prayer and as a church body we petition God, according to His will, to answer our prayers. Our Pastor, David C. Laughner, is a biblical scholar. Brother David's sermons, taken directly from the bible scriptures, are lessons for everyday life which help us to grow our personal relationship with God, as well as providing an in-depth explanation and illumination of the Word of God.

Bible verses are selected based upon the Month of the Year for the Chapter, in this case 8, and the Day of the Month for the Verse, in this case 24.

The congregation of Chapel by the Sea is a missions oriented body that considers themselves Christ's disciples and as such want you to know and enjoy the Grace and Love of God. Through faith in God, and God alone, you can find salvation and peace on earth. After all, we saints are merely on this earth and not of this earth. We are but passing through, but while we are here it is our obligation and mission to fulfill the Great Commission and to share the wonderful Word of God with those who will but hear it. Faith is all about a personal relationship with Christ.

Lesson Summary: Jacob addresses Judah and marks out his unique standing among his brethren. Far more will be said about the tribe of Judah than any other tribe. Because Judah will become the leading tribe, the land will be known as Judea. The title of Jew comes from a shortened form of Judah.
